Ivory nut mannan occurs in members of the custard apple, ebony and palm families (Ivory nut). The polysaccharide contains more than 95% mannose units linked β-(1-4) with a few α-D-galactopyranosyl units linked (1-6). It is widely used in foods, pharmaceuticals, paints and explosives.Mannan from Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a simple polysaccharide.
Product Application:
Mannan from Saccharomyces cerevisiae has been used in a study to assess nonopsonic uptake of Mycobacterium avium complex by human monocytes and alveolar macrophages. It has also been used in a study to investigate new lectins from bulbs of Croccus sativum.
