应用

肽聚糖可用于裂解酶（如裂解酶）的活性评估。建议使用浓度为 0.15-3μ 的肽聚糖g/ml，溶于水或缓冲液，在 450 nm 处测定。肽聚糖不溶解，但在水中产生混悬液。肽聚糖可激活 Toll 样受体 2 (TLR2)，TLR2 存在于哺乳动物细胞中以刺激淋巴细胞。也可作为 Poly (I:C) 的拮抗剂发挥作用。

Description

Peptidoglycan.is a biopolymer that is a major component of the cell walls of Gram-positive bacteria. Peptidoglycan consists of a carbohydrate backbone of alternating units ofN-acetyl glucosamine andN-acetyl muramic acid and is modified with both D- and L-amino acids.N-Acetyl muramic acid residues are cross-linked with oligopeptides. The terminal peptide is D-alanine although other amino acids are present as D-isomers.Peptidoglycan may be used for the activity estimation of lytic enzymes (e.g. lyticase). It is recommended to use a peptidoglycan concentration of 0.15-3 μg/ml in water or buffer and measuring at 450 nm. The peptidoglycan is not soluble but produces a suspension in water.Peptidoglycan activates the Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2), present in mammalian cells for the stimulation of lymphocytes. It may also function as an antagonist of Poly (I:C).

Description

Peptidoglycans are major components of bacterial cell walls, especially of gram-positve bacteria. Peptidoglycan are composed of alternating residues of β-(1,4) linked N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylmuramic acid and peptide chains that create cross-linkage to create mesh structures. Peptidoglycans from different bacterial species can be compared to determine structural and compositional differences/variations and phylogenetic evolution. Peptidoglycans from different species may be used to differentiate and characterize peptidoglycan hydrolases.
