Iomeprol

Iomeprol is a nonionic, monomeric iodinated contrast medium. Unlike the older ionic agents, iomeprol has low chemotoxicity, osmolality and viscosity and high water solubility. Contrast media are sterile iodine-containing solutions used in diagnostic imaging procedures. The main aim of these agents is to increase the difference in attenuation between different body structures. Contrast media achieve this by reaching different concentrations in the various body compartments or structures of interest.
